A beautifully restored 14th-century knight's house in Rhodes Old Town where history meets exceptional hospitality.
There are just six suites here, each individually designed and named after people who once called this house home. You'll sleep exceptionally well on orthopaedic mattresses (there's even a pillow menu with six options), and the bathrooms are something special – contemporary luxury that somehow works perfectly with the ancient stone and vaulted ceilings. Some suites open onto private gardens, others have sun-soaked terraces. Michalis on the ground floor even boasts its own plunge pool, whilst Katina and Orhan offer more spacious living areas. All suites have air conditioning, those wonderfully thick walls that keep things blissfully cool, and thoughtful touches that show real care.
Breakfast is a highlight. Angela prepares a multi-course feast each morning using ingredients from local suppliers, served in the sun-dappled courtyard where you can plan your day over proper Greek coffee. Angela and Nikos are proud to share their Rhodes, the one only locals know - hidden beaches, family-run tavernas, archaeological sites without the crowds. Their insider knowledge transforms your stay from good to genuinely special.
The location is perfect for exploring the Medieval Town on foot, yet peaceful enough that you'll sleep soundly after evenings spent wandering the atmospheric lanes. When you return, help yourself to complimentary wine in the elegant salon or settle into the garden with a good book. The hotel runs entirely on renewable energy, sourced locally, and manages waste thoughtfully – but they do it without fuss, which feels very much in keeping with the understated elegance of everything at Kókkini Porta Rossa.
*Please note that this a no smoking hotel in all areas*
