Hill Bank Field Station is a unique and special lodge that is part of the Rio Bravo conservation project, and welcomes nature and conservation enthusiasts for a truly educational, memorable and inspiring trip.

Their dedication to protecting and conserving their environment is remarkable and can be felt from the moment you arrive.

It’s location on the banks of the New River makes for an absolutely stunning setting and you will have the opportunity to enjoy all the flora and fauna of the jungle, along with that of the water. See herons, pelicans, frogs and even crocodiles which you can find on a night boat cruise. Hill Bank is only an enjoyable boat ride away from the incredible Lamanai Mayan site which was the city occupied for the longest time, right into the 20th century.

The cabins at Hill Bank are basic and all feature two double beds, en-suite bathrooms, fans and a veranda with open, gorgeous views of the river. You can spend your time at Hill Bank relaxing and spotting wildlife as it passes you by, or you can go out on a guided walk, boat or drive to seek it out or you can even float down the absolutely charming mangrove river under the shaded mangrove canopy; a really unique experience. Hill Bank is also an active research centre and also has some amazing ongoing projects which depending on your interest, the amazing staff can show you the sustainable logging sites that they are having great success with and educating about on an international scale. Or they can inform you about their part in the Jaguar Project, crocodile count or their carbon sequestering project. There is just so much going on at Hill Bank and you can sink your teeth into as much or as little as you feel.
