The rooms are split over two main buildings, Arion which is home to the lead-in room categories, (even these are not to be sniffed at!), and all of the gorgeous rooms and suites in the Nafsika building offer breath-taking sea views over the Aegean. Then there are the original bungalows and suites that originally opened in 1961 offer the ultimate luxury experience, offering seclusion, spacious terraces and many with their own inviting pool.
With no less than 6 superb restaurants, including the Michelin starred Pelagos with its innovative Mediterranean tasting menu, waterfront Italian restaurant Mercato, charming Taverna 37 for contemporary Greek cuisine. There is also an excellent Latin-American, Japanese and steakhouse and barbecue restaurant. You are so spoilt for choice, you could easily stay for a week and not move, but then of course there also the tempting tavernas of beautiful Vouliagmeni a 5 minute stroll away.
The Astir Palace has 2 outdoor pools, an enormous saltwater pool in the Nafsika block, and a stunning adult-only infinity pool at Arion, and with 3 private beaches to choose from, you won’t struggle finding a lounger for a day’s ultimate relaxation. For the more active guests, there is an array of water sports to try out, from gentle kayaking to exhilarating jet-skiing, not to mention the jogging trails, 3 tennis courts and basketball court.
As expected with 5 star hotels, the Astir Palace also boasts a fabulous spa, with sea-facing massage rooms, indoor pool, hair salon and a wide menu of rejuvenating, pampering treatments.
Although it would be so easy to relax for a whole week and enjoy the amazing facilities on offer at the hotel, you simply can’t miss out on at least a day in Athens to marvel at the ancient wonders of the Acropolis, Parthenon and Agora.
