Explora Lodge, a testament to Douglas and Kristin Tompkins’ legacy, is nestled in the Chacabuco Valley. Renovated and equipped, the lodge offers travelers a unique opportunity to experience nature in its purest state. Its stone and wood construction harmonize seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. With only 17 rooms, our lodge is located just off the “Carretera Austral” (Austral Highway) and immersed in Patagonia National Park in Chile’s Aysén Region, offering an intimate and private atmosphere. The nearest cities with airports are Balmaceda (for commercial flights) and Cochrane (for private flights).

Our explorations are always led by a bilingual guide trained at our Explora Guide School, fluent in English or Spanish for groups of up to 8 travelers.
