Auberge Burgundy is a charming Provençal style boutique hotel, centrally located on the seafront promenade of Hermanus, overlooking the picturesque Old Harbour and spectacular Walker Bay, famous for its natural beauty and whale watching.
The two suites are located in the Main House and are en suite with full bathrooms. The beds are 3/4 twins. Each also offers a full lounge with balconies and views over Walker Bay.
The Poolside Suite has a separate lounge area with a fire-place, kitchen and lovely sea-views from the balcony. The en suite bathroom also offers both a shower and bath.
The slightly smaller "Middle Room" is on the first floor in the Main House with an en suite bathroom with a shower only. There is no balcony, but a nice view of the surrounding Overberg mountains. This room is suited for a single traveller.
There are 10 standard rooms, The 5 rooms, numbers 1-5, walk out onto the garden, while the other 5, numbers 6-10 are situated on the first floor. These 5 rooms all have balconies with garden views. The standard bedrooms all have ¾ twin beds and can be made up as a king on request. Rooms are with shower only. Stair access only.
The three Pool rooms situated around the pool and only have views of the pool area. The standard bedrooms all have ¾ twin beds. Rooms are with shower only. Stair access only.
The luxury Penthouse Suite sleeps six adults, and consists of 3 double rooms. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed with en suite bathroom. One room has twin 3/4 beds and the other room has two single beds. These two rooms share one bathroom. There is also a kitchen and lounge area and lovely views from the rooms. This is suitable for a group of friends or family with older children travelling together. The penthouse can be split into 2 separate penthouses sleeping 2 and 4 people respectively.
All bedrooms have telephones, television, hair-dryer, bar fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, under-carpet heating, heated towel rails and comfortable walk-in dressing rooms.
Guests can expect friendly service at the Auberge Burgundy. The Frances Restaurant is located in the oldest historical building in Hermanus and offers breakfast and brunch included for guests and lunch and dinner available on request.
Located within walking distance of the town of Hermanus with its many restaurants, craft market, country shopping malls and only 50 meters from Walker Bay; all makes this a great base from where to explore this interesting area.
Hermanus is exceptionally popular during the "Whale Season" months from September to November when the Southern Right Whales come into Walker Bay to calf. Visitors can enjoy spectacular displays by these 'gentle giants' of the ocean.
