A beautifully restored 19th Century Venetian manor house with 6 bedrooms, just a five minute drive from laid-back Gaios.
With thick stone walls Villa Veronika stays lovely and cool in the height of summer although air-conditioning has been installed in the bedrooms. There is a small twin bedroom and one en-suite double room on the ground floor, and 3 double rooms on the first floor, 2 of which can be made up as twins. There is also a double room in an annexe located by the pool, which has access to an outside shower.
The spacious open-plan dining area and excellent kitchen leads out on to the pretty terrace, not that you will be spending much time indoors, but there is also a separate comfy lounge area with fireplace.
The flower-filled terrace is a gorgeous place to relax, surrounded by age-old olive and citrus trees, and of course the beautiful swimming pool is the centre-piece, complete with swim jets.
Villa Veronika is a great base for walkers, with many ancient paths winding through a dramatic landscape of old olive groves, hillsides and ancient hamlets waiting to be explored.
Location: car hire recommended but not essential. A good supermarket is just 500 metres away. Shops, tavernas & boat hire of Gaios are 1.5 kilometres away. Avlaki beach, on the west coast, is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. Vontza taverna is on the outskirts of Velianitatika - just a 5 minute walk.
