Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to the 'Venice of the North'!

Fly into St Petersburg, where you will be greeted by its impressive 18th Century architectural splendour. This imperial city is unlike anywhere else in Europe (or even the world) and is sure to take you breath away. You will be met by your private driver at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening get acquainted with the charm of the city, as you walk the waterways and marvel at the abundance of grand palaces.

Day 2 - What Revolution?!

After a typical Ruski breakfast this morning, you will be met at your hotel by your private guide and taken on an informative walking tour of this stunning city. You’ll be taken to the famous Nevsky Prospect which sparkles with baroque palaces, luxury boutiques and art galleries. You’ll feast your eyes on the architectural masterpieces as you visit some of the highlights including of St Isaacs Cathedral, Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Anichov Bridge and other city highlights. In the afternoon, you will visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, the original centre of the city founded by Peter the Great. This island which is connected to the city, houses a cathedral where the Romanovs are buried and a former prison.

Day 3 - Arts & Culture

This morning, your guide will accompany you on a tour of the iconic Hermitage museum – the second largest museum in the world. The facade is a work of art in itself, which gives you an idea of the treasures that lie in store. You’ll spend 2.5 hours enjoying the many masterpieces on display. We recommend that if you are interested, you stay on a little longer after the tour, as you could spend days in the Hermitage and not get bored! You may wish to visit the famous Faberge museum in your free time, to see these unbelievably expensive jewelled imperial Easter eggs in the flesh. This museum contains the world’s largest collection of Carl Fabergé masterpieces.

Dy 4 - A day in the life of an Empress

Today you will head south of St Petersburg, to Pushkin, with your private driver. This town is home to the sumptuous Catherine Palace, which was formerly the summer residence of the Russian Tsars. Admire the overtly decadent interiors, Baroque architecture and the famous Amber Room on a guided tour. The summer gardens are rather special too! This evening you can enjoy dinner in this magical city, overlooking the city’s intricate rooftops, spires and impressive, colourful domes.

Day 5 - Прощай

This morning you will spend at leisure to explore under your own steam. Perhaps you’d like to take a self-guided walking tour through the city, which is made up of over a hundred islands linked together by beautiful bridges, creating scenic a patchwork of rivers and canals. Soak up the cultural heart of Russia -where ballet, opera, galleries, museums, palaces, stately homes, cafe-lined ‘prospekts’ – abound!
