Inspired by the city's Portuguese and Moorish history, Casa del Rio offers an architecturally unique place to stay in the heart of Melaka.

Guest rooms are decorated with a mix of Mediterranean and Peranakan (Straits Chinese) styles. All have hard wood floors, marble-lined bathrooms, and individual balconies facing either the Melaka River or the Lago courtyard. Deluxe Rooms, some with river views, offer a split-level design with a few steps inside the room. King or two single beds are available. Studio King Rooms offer more space and a custom-built day bed that transforms the room into one able to accommodate two adults and one child. Large balconies overlook the river or courtyard.

A limited number of two-bedroom suites are an ideal choice for families. River Suites offer a living room and dining area and a front-entry balcony. These suites can sleep two adults and two children. The larger Cheng Ho Suite can sleep four adults and two children and hosts an expansive river-facing balcony. The beautiful Melaka Suite features a wraparound courtyard with a cold-water Jacuzzi and small outdoor dining area. This split level suite can accommodate four adults and two children.

Breakfast is served in the River Grill with a buffet and à la carte offerings. Lunch and dinner are also available with a mix of local favourites and western cuisine. River Café opens in the late morning and serves light refreshments throughout the afternoon. Live music is played most evenings. Poolside Bar Sol offers tapas, snacks, and an array of beverages. Massage and other treatments are available at Satkara Spa. River cruises, cooking classes, and more can be arranged directly with the hotel.

Casa del Rio is set in the heart of Melaka, only a few minutes walk to the city's iconic Stadhuys and lively Jonker Street. A number of restaurants and hawker stalls, shops, and historical sites can be visited on foot. For further journeys, bicycles can be arranged.
