Day 1 - Welcome to the UNESCO hills!

Arrive in to Milan airport where your transfer will be waiting to whisk you away to the dreamy Langhe area of Piedmont. Settle in to your boutique hotel and have a chance to relax before kicking off your culinary adventure with a tasting dinner to immerse yourself in the flavours of Piedmont…

Day 2 - Langhe hills and local recipes

Dive straight into your epic tour with a guided excursion in the Barbaresco wine region, taking in the stunning vineyard landscapes and exploring world-renowned wine cellars. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, indulge in a typical lunch at a small traditional cheese producer before an afternoon of learning the secrets behind the flavours, recipes, traditional methods and ingredients of the region at a nearby cookery school. Enjoy the fruits of your labour with dinner this evening, raising a glass to the delicious food and wine of the region. 

Day 3 - Live La Dolce Vita in Liguria

A change of scenery today from the rolling Unesco hills, to the colourful coastline of the Italian Riviera. Settle in to your sea-side hotel before familiarising yourself with the pretty surroundings with a guided visit of charming Santa Margherita and the famously glittering Portofino. Dine as the locals do in a typical restaurant along the Santa Margherita bay for dinner tonight. 

Day 4 - Genoa’s enchanting painted palaces and mysterious medieval centre

Joined by your expert local guide, take to Genoa’s beautiful streets today, to explore the city’s spectacular medieval centre, steeped in fascinating history and wonderful artisan shops. Afterwards, take part in hands-on pesto making lesson in a very special setting – a noble Renaissance palace. At the end of your lesson you can enjoy your homemade pesto with a glass of local wine. A fun and interesting day trip!

Day 5 - Fall in love with Cinque Terre

Experience the scenic railway today with a train journey further down the coast. Enjoy a full day exploring the five fishing villages that make up the colourful and incredibly charming Cinque Terre – a photographer’s dream! Accompanied by your local guide you will experience the beautiful area, stopping for lunch in a lovely local restaurant where you can sample typical dishes of the region. 

Day 6 - Sun, Sea and Pasta!

Enjoy a morning relaxing by the sea, soaking up the warm rays and colourful atmosphere of Liguria before your journey continues onto Parma. Located in the heart of the Emilia-Romagna region, Parma offers a glorious combination of art, music, history and food culture. Your experience of the city will commence with an afternoon lesson in the art of making traditional tortilla stuffed pasta, followed of course by a sumptuous dinner. 

Day 7 - Indulge in the flavours of Emilia-Romagna

Today is the ultimate experience of some the most famous and sought after produce of the Emilia-Romagna region. Discover culinary treasures of the food valley including Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar and Prosciutto di Parma. You’ll visi traditional producers and sample local delicacies in a lovely trattoria.

Day 8 - Under the skin of Parma

Enjoy your final morning exploring Parma and its cultural, architectural and historical gems. A simple stroll through some of the city’s beautiful gardens (or perhaps a spot of shopping!) is a lovely way to bring your Italy adventure to a close. Of course one last lunch in a traditional restaurant is a must! Head home with found memories and happy bellies.

All transfers are included in this itinerary, but we can also arrange a self-drive version if you would prefer to have your own car during your trip.
