Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Guatemala

Welcome to the land of eternal spring! Upon arrival at La Aurora International Airport, our representative will transfer you to the hotel for check-in and then you are free to explore Antigua.

Antigua, is the colonial capital, where you will visit some churches, colonial buildings, monasteries, convents and other jewels of colonial architecture.

You have the option to hike the Acatenango Volcano, an very adventurous trek offering views of active volcanoes.

Day 2 - Antigua

Day (or two) at leisure in Antigua. Today you will start the day with a small tour, you will spend the rest of the day exploring this truly unique and charming town – an absolute Fleewinter favourite and the perfect place to spend a few days as you acclimatise to you surroundings.

There is so much to explore and many beautiful streets to wonder as you purchase souvenirs. When you want to stop for a bite there are no shortage of restaurants with stunning views of the the active volcanoes that Guatemala is so well known for.

Tomorrow, you continue to Chichicastenango.

- Guatemala City and Chichicastenango

In the morning, you will have a brief panoramic tour of Guatemala City, visiting the National Palace, the Cathedral, and the Civic Center Complex. You will also visit the residential areas to get an idea of ​​the rapid growth of our country (No shorts or bathing suits allowed). Then continue to the archaeological site of Iximché for your visit, and then continue to Chichicastenango for accommodation at The Maya Inn.

- Chichicastenango, Church of Santo Tomás

Today you will visit the colorful open-air market and the Church of Santo Tomás. There you will be able to witness the ceremonial rites that take place on the steps of the church, which is more than 400 years old. At the market, hundreds of indigenous people come from different surrounding villages to sell and exchange their products by setting up in small spaces. In the afternoon, transfer to Quetzaltenango for accommodation.

Day -

Day - Sololá Local Market

Visit Zunil, Almolonga and the Church of San Andrés Xecul. Continue to Sololá for a visit to the local market.

In the afternoon, transfer to Panajachel (Lake Atitlán) for accommodation.

Day - Lake Atitlán

Today you will way up early to visit the colorful open-air market and the Church of Santo Tomás. There you can witness the ceremonial rites that take place on the steps of the church, which is more than 400 years old. Hundreds of indigenous people come from different surrounding villages to sell and exchange their products in small spaces. (Thurs or Sun).

After lunch, you will begin the journey to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Atitlán is the ideal place to get in direct contact with Guatemalan folklore.

Day 6 - Lake Atitlán

Twelve indigenous villages surround the lake and its inhabitants are descendants of the Quichés, Cackchiqueles and Tzutuhiles.

Day - Lake Atitlan to Antigua

Today you will board the boat that will take you to the picturesque town of San Juan La Laguna. In the afternoon, departure to Antigua. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for accommodation.

Day - Antigua

Today you have a day at leisure to enjoy this stunning little town, enjoy dining on a rooftop surrounded by volcanoes and purchase some lovely souvenirs before you depart.
