From historic hotels in Quito to cosy haciendas and nature lodges, Ecuador is full of special places to stay. You’ll find comfort, culture, and incredible views everywhere you go.
Stay in Quito’s Old Town
Quito sits high in the Andes at 2,580 metres. Its setting is spectacular, with mountain views and a dramatic volcanic backdrop. We suggest staying in the Old Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic area is filled with baroque churches, cobbled streets, and elegant boutique hotels.
Want a livelier evening? Head to Mariscal, a busy district with buzzing bars and nightlife. Or visit La Floresta, a creative neighbourhood full of cafés, street art, and local charm.
Relax in the Otavalo Highlands
A couple of hours north of Quito, the Andean Highlands offer peace and natural beauty. It’s a great place to slow down and soak up local life. Stay in a traditional hacienda – a historic home turned into a warm and welcoming hotel. These rural retreats offer great food, beautiful gardens, and a real sense of place.
Escape to the Cloud Forest
If you love nature, head west to the cloud forests of Mindo. This lush, green region is full of wildlife, waterfalls, and misty mountain views. We’ve found small lodges tucked away in the forest. They’re perfect for birdwatching, hiking, and relaxing in peaceful surroundings.
