Exploring Canada

Vancouver & Vancouver Island

Your Itinerary

Day 1-2 - Vancouver

Welcome to Canada! Your adventure begins in the beautiful city of Vancouver. There is lots to do here!  You could hire a bike and cycle around the Stanley Park Seawall, take a seaplane trip over the harbour, visit the iconic Granville Island food market, ride the Grouse Mountain gondola for mesmerising views of the city below or simply explore the compact and diverse downtown area on foot. Vancouver is known for excellent eateries, so be sure to sample a few whilst you are here.

Day 3-4 - Victoria

Collect your hire car this morning and make your way to the ferry terminal.  The crossing to Victoria, the provincial capital of British Columbia, is very beautiful, and be sure to keep your eye out for orca!  Victoria is an excellent place for whale watching.  Your guide will take you on an adventure to locate some of the 90 resident orca in the area.  The stunning local Butchart Gardens, an award winning collection of gardens, is definitely worth a visit, as are the historical and impressive parliament buildings.

Day 5-7 - Tofino

The drive from Victoria to Tofino is a long one (around 6 hours), however the second half of the journey, as you wind through ancient rainforest with the coast sweeping dramatically beneath, is incredibly scenic.  Tofino is delightful, laid back beach town – a surfer’s paradise and a wildlife haven.  Spend your time here relaxing on the beautiful beaches, taking a surf lesson, hiking through the rainforest, sea kayaking, whale watching or black bear viewing.  The local seafood is superb so be sure to try it out.

Day 8-9 - Whistler

Today you will head back across Vancouver Island, to the Nanaimo ferry terminal, across to Horseshoe Bay and north to Whistler. This drive, known as the Sea to Sky Highway, is incredibly beautiful on a clear day.

Whistler, known for it’s excellent snow sports in winter, has lots of activity and adventure to offer throughout the summer months. Zip lining, mountain biking, kayaking and hiking are just a few of the activities on offer. The Peak-to-Peak gondola offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountain scenery.

Day 10 - Vancouver

Today you will make your back down the Sea to Sky highway towards Vancouver Airport.  Your Canadian adventure has come to an end and it’s now time to board your overnight home.
