Heritage and Heritage Deluxe rooms are found within two UNESCO-listed historic buildings, each with its own charm and character. Heritage Deluxe rooms are a bit larger and are only found on the upper floor while Heritage rooms are on both ground and first floors. All rooms have spacious seating areas and are en-suite with a bathtub. Maintaining the traditional wood structure and the use of Lao fabrics and design creates a cosy atmosphere.
Tradition and Tradition Deluxe rooms are in three newer buildings that maintain their Lao design and decor. These are laid out so that two rooms share a staircase and entryway, creating a nearly inter-connecting set. For a heritage hotel, this is a delightful option rarely seen in Laos. Some of these have balconies so that a king room with balcony connects to a twin room without. Tradition rooms are the same size as Heritage Deluxe while Tradition Deluxe are the largest rooms in the hotel. If you'll need an extra bed for a child, we recommend the Tradition Deluxe for the most space and comfort. For those seeking a true home from home, Maison Houng Chanh is a 3-bedroom heritage house with an outdoor kitchen, private garden, jacuzzi, and the assistance of staff. You have access to the amenities of the hotel and the privacy of your own villa.
Villa Maydou is located by the Old French Bridge, a pedestrian-only bridge that crosses the Nam Khan. This peaceful part of town has plenty of restaurants and places to explore on foot although the night market may best be visited by tuk tuk or taxi. As a temple is located next to the hotel, please expect early morning noise on Buddhist holidays and at full moon.
