Tembe Elephant Camp is a tented bush camp in the Tembe National Park and home to the largest elephants in Africa! Tembe Elephant Lodge is a perfect haven for the wildlife enthusiast.

Tembe Elephant Camp accomodates luxury or semi-luxury bush tents that are privately located around the lodge, secluded in the bush. All are en suite with only a shower. The luxury tents are spacious and each have a private deck.There are a limited number of beds at Tembe, and that combined with the fact that only 10 vehicles are permitted in the park on a daily basis makes Tembe one of the most exclusive game reserves to visit.

The main area of the lodge offers a boma, swimming pool, open plan deck for buffet style meals and a bar.

Tembe Elephant Camp is a community based camp and offers warm hospitality as the Thonga people share their love of the bush with guests.

During your stay you can enjoy 2 daily game drives, visit to the local sangoma and during the day time you can be taken to the bush hide overlooking a waterhole. Visit Border Cave with the worlds earliest evidence of homo sapien existance - dating back 150 000 years ago.

Home to the big five (elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard) as well as a wide varety of other game species including hippo, giraffe, kudu and an abundance of birdlife.

Located on the border between South Africa and Mozambique, Tembe Elephant Camp offers a great bush experience in true African hospitality. The reserve covers an area of 30 000 hectares and is the secong biggest game reserve in South Africa.

Tembe Elephant Camp can be combined with a stay in southern Mozambique, Kosi Bay vicinity or en route from either Swaziland or the Natal Battlefields.
