Located in the private Ongava Game Reserve, adjacent to the world renown Etosha National Park, this luxury lodge provides sweeping views across the savanna
Ongava Lodge houses 13 standard luxury stone and thatch chalets and 1 luxury family unit. The standard units are furnished with 2 large ¾ beds and come with an en-suite bathroom with shower, as well as an outside shower. The family unit consists of 2 en-suite bedrooms, each with 2 ¾ beds and its own entrance. The two rooms are joined by a wooden boardwalk. The beds in all unite face large floor to ceiling glass doors, offering views of the surrounding landscape from your bed! All units also come with a private wooden deck where guests can sit and enjoy the views looking out over the reserve.
The main communal area at the lodge is designed to maximise the feeling of space and to capture the views over the reserve. The area consists of a main lounge, bar and dining area, as well as a separate dining and viewing deck with views over the reserve and the waterhole. The lounge has a central fireplace and comfortable sofa chairs making it the perfect spot for relaxing during the cooler afternoons or evenings. The lodge also houses a swimming pool where guests can take a dip after an exciting day out on safari.
Activities at the lodge are centred around game viewing and immersing yourself in the natural environment. You can choose to go on a guided afternoon or evening game drive through the Ongava reserve, where you will have the chance to see rhino, lion and other game such as antelope, including endemic black-faced impala. You can also book a guided morning nature walk through the reserve (seasonal and subject to availability). In addition, book a full or half-day drive through Etosha National Park where you can see herds of elephant amongst many other game. The lodge also has its own photographic hide, where you can get up close to the game without disturbing them.
