Cosy bamboo bungalows line the river of Nong Khiaw, surrounded by vertical limestone mountains and forest.
The resort prides itself on being a cultural and natural experience and warns it is not a luxury option - a stay here may involve a power cut or two but you will also wake up to the sound of the birds singing with splendid river views. Think of it as a night or two of bamboo hut ‘glamping’!
All 15 thatched-roofed bungalows are spacious (40sqm) boasting a big private balcony with river views and large bathrooms. Four poster beds sit in the naturally light rooms with bamboo walls and good quality wooden floor. The bathrooms have good rain showers and are simple but clean. Meanwhile the balconies face the river with stunning view of the mountains. Due to limited electricity supply there is no air conditioning, but as it's almost never hot in the night time you are more likely to value the resort’s electric heated beds and very hot showers.
There is a restaurant on site with excellent river views, which serves a good mix of local and western food. There are plenty of other eating options nearby.
Just a two-minute walk from the bridge that leads directly into Nong Khiaw, expect a laid-back and enjoyable stay with extremely friendly staff.
