Secluded island luxury amongst an eco-sanctuary.
This is the ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful respite with access to natural wonders on land and in the water. Hiking trails through the jungle lead to a secluded beach with excellent bird watching and animal spotting along the way. An on-site dive centre can arrange diving while snorkeling is available in the resort’s private cove. Kayaking through mangroves and stand-up paddleboarding also make for a great way to see the limestone cliffs and clear waters of Bacuit Bay.
Guests can choose from Forest Rooms or Suites, Beachfront Cottages, and Water Cottages built on stilts. All are designed to sleep two but a third can comfortably fit in any room. The spacious Forest Suites are the most luxuriously appointed and largest at 70sqm but we prefer the Beachfront Cottages for their panoramic views of the cove and optimal sunset viewing. Forest Rooms and Suites allow you to walk out your front door and into the jungle. For ultimate privacy, we recommend the Water Cottages. Each of the 18 cottages stands alone, connected by a boardwalk so you’ll have ample space to yourselves. With a breeze coming in off the water it’s easy to let the gentle waves lapping below your balcony lull you to sleep.
All rooms have been designed with sophistication, relaxation, and comfort in mind. Recycled timber from Filipino homes and furniture is incorporated into the design of every room creating a classic elegance and tranquil ambience. Every room has a private veranda with stunning views over the water. Air conditioning and fans in each room allow you the choice to control your environment and should the views out your glass veranda doors not be enough, there’s full cable tv in all rooms.
Meals are enjoyed in the Clubhouse Restaurant which offers a large and varied buffet and a poolside bar serves delightful drinks perfect for sunset. Picnics and private dinners can be prepared and taken along on a hike or set up on the beach. A stay at Lagen is on a full-board basis.
For a change of scenery, hop on the daily shuttle boat to nearby Miniloc Island where you can watch a fish feeding and snorkel. You may be surprised how different the variety of fish can be just a short boat ride away!
If all of that isn’t enough, Lagen Island is committed to sustainability and creating guilt-free luxury with the natural environment in mind.
Following renovations, Lagen Island will reopen on 27 October, 2023.
