Hlosi Game Lodge is a 5 star, family friendly lodge located in the "malaria free" Bushmans River Conservancy of the Amakhala Game Reserve, only 40km from Port Elizabeth.
The 2 family suites have 2 bedrooms and can accommodate a family with children or 2 couples travelling together.
The central area offers guests a lounge, dining room and library. Guests can relax on the tree-shaded verandah, or soak up the sun by the pool. There is also a raised game viewing deck from where to watch the passing animals in the reserve.
Dinners are enjoyed either in the dining room, or during summer months in the boma, light by a large bon-fire under the canvas of the African night sky.
Your stay at Hlosi includes two daily game drives with an experienced game ranger who will share his knowledge of the bush with you. Bush breakfasts, picnics and special occasions can be catered for, adding a special touch to your African safari experience.
There is a cheetah breeding project within the Amakhala Reserve as well as a breeding programme of the African Serval. The name Hlosi means 'cheetah' in Xhosa.
The Bushmans River Conservancy forms part of the Amakhala Game Reserve, and is home to the big five, namely lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard. In addition guests can also expect to see impala, springbok, kudu, cheetah, ostrich, jackal and a large variety of bird life - to mention the highlights.
The Bushmans River runs through the reserve and during a 3 night stay it is possible to enjoy a cruise on the river, giving a different dimension to game viewing. Open landscapes and high plateaus offer beautiful vistas over the plains and typical African sunsets.

Ideal for couples and honeymooners. Families are welcome at Hlosi Lodge, however younger children are accommodated at the discretion of management as this is an open plan lodge and no fence lines exist between the lodge and the reserve.
