Engulfed in hues of red, purple and gold, Namib Desert Lodge is situated at the foot of fossilised sand dunes with views of riverine trees and tall mountains in the background.
The main communal area at the lodge consists of a large restaurant with long tables for bigger groups and small tables for couples and small families travelling together. Connected to this restaurant is a bar. There are also two swimming pools – one fresh water and one salt water – and an outside bar with sun loungers dotted around the pools. The lodge has a large reception area with a curio shop connected, stocking handmade jewellery as well as other gifts.
A typical day at the campsite may consist of an early morning trail walk through the sand dunes, followed by an afternoon of relaxing at the pool while watching the gemsbok having a drink from the waterhole. Evenings are spent dining in the warm and welcoming restaurant after enjoying sundowners with beautiful views on your private veranda. Guests can also choose to embark on a sunrise or sundowner drive – with drinks and snacks included.
