Beachfront resort nestled against the hills of Coron with simple rooms, cottages, and cabanas in a variety of styles.
Standard Native Cabanas are the most traditional rooms, built with woven bamboo in the vein of nipa huts. These rooms can sleep three people using an extra bed that pulls out from the base of a queen or king bed. An outdoor veranda offers a shaded place to rest in a hammock. Superior Cabanas have a more modern design that let in plenty of natural light through the large glass doors. These can sleep up to four people using two extra beds. Verandas have covered seating but no hammock. These cabanas are a 5-10 minute walk from the restaurant and main areas of the resort.
More spacious Premier Cabanas can sleep four using two pull-out single beds. While Premier Cedar Cabanas have a hammock, the more modern Premier Cabana has an outdoor dining set. If being close to the pool is important, the Premier Cedar Cabanas are an excellent choice.
For those seeking rooms instead of cabanas, Deluxe and Superior Casas are available. These can sleep four using the same configuration of a queen or king bed with two pull-out single beds. Superior Casas are located near the Dugong Dive Centre, further from the restaurant and main areas than the Deluxe Casas.
Al Fresco Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Port Calton's Reef Bar is a great place to grab a drink, a bite, or watch the sunset.
Snorkeling and diving, including instruction, can be arranged at Dugong Dive Center. A unique day of dugong-spotting is offered in which the boat stops at feeding grounds and turtle islands to look for these gentle animals. If you need a break from the sun or there's a patch of rain, an indoor games room includes billiards tables, darts, and table tennis. A library and tv room is stocked with DVDs and an assortment of books. You can even try a round of karaoke in a room available for guest use all day.
El Rio y Mar is located in a quiet bay, approximately 30 minutes from the Coron airport. Dining outside the resort requires boat and vehicle transport.
Please note there are no televisions. All rooms have both a ceiling fan and air conditioning.
