Bahia Bustamante is a place full of history, natural beauty and wildlife. It might not be your first choice if you are going to Argentina for the first time, but we cannot recommend it enough if you want something truly off the beaten path.

Bahia Bustamante Lodge has been often described by international newspapers as ´Argentina's Private (and Secret) answer to The Galapagos´.

Bahia Bustamante is a seaside Lodge surrounded by 360° of pure nature, located in Patagonia, in an area recognised by its relevant biological biodiversity.

Only in a few places in the world it is possible to find such a number and diversity of seabirds and marine mammals, which is why it has been included in ´Patagonia Austral´ National Park & ´Blue Patagonia´ UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It is also an IBAs (Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas).

Founded in the 1950s as a seaweed settlement by Lorenzo Soriano, a Spanish immigrant and grandfather of the generations running the Lodge today, more than 400 seaweed workers and their families lived here: there was a church, a school, a police department and everything this small “town” and their inhabitants needed. Staying in Bahia Bustamante Lodge also means taking a journey to the past, to discover the amazing life of the pioneers of this truly remote place in Patagonia.

The lodge offers 6 Sea Cabins and 5 Steppe Cabins, whereas in the main Lodge you will find the restaurant & living room.

The lodge offers full board and you can take part in a plethora of activities including walking, birdwatching, navigations by boat and many more.

It is a truly unique place and we highly recommend it for a unique experience in close contact with unspoilt nature.
