Machaton has only 3 individual luxury suites, each offers a large en-suite bedroom, a well-appointed bathroom with an outdoor shower, a dayroom with a daybed and a large terrace. Privacy is quaranteed thanks to the careful placement of the suites and privacy walls, ensuring a tranquil and intimate stay.

Simbavati Machaton Private Camp is situated is in the northern sector of the Timbavati Nature Reserve, surrounded by over 12 000 hectares of wildlife rich wilderness. The main building features a covered lounge and dining area and a game-viewing terrace overlooking the Nhlaralumi River.

The lodge offers game drives in the early morning and evening to ensure game viewing when the animals are most active. The game drive is conducted by an experienced ranger & tracker, in open 4X4 vehicle. Currently there are over 40 mammal species in the Timbavati including the Big Five of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant as well as 360 species of bird life. This is one of the few places where you have the opportunity to see the unique white lion in their natural environment. Interpretive bush walks can be organised by prior arrangement and subject to availability.

Spa treatments are also offer as an In-room treatment to enjoy more privacy.

Machaton Private Camp may be booked either on a sole-use basis or per suite basis and includes a field guide & tracker, butler, chef, housekeeper and groundsman.

No children under 12 years of age unless the camp is booked for sole use.

Access to Simbavati Machaton Private Camp is convenient with daily flights from Johannesburg to East Gate Airport. You would then take a short transfer to the lodge. A flight to a neighbouring airstrip within the Timbavati Reserve is also possible by prior arrangement.
