We would be very happy for you to include our feedback in your guest book for Elephant Plains.
We arrived at 3pm ,were welcomed most warmly,given a cold drink,and offered tea and some excellent gateaux.Our car was parked for us and our luggage taken to our 'luxury room'.This accommodation is exceptional by any standard and as such is excellent value.We had of course come in the hope of seeing at least a few of the Big Five and at 4pm we were called to go on the first game drive.Not being new to game drives we tried not to set our hopes too high.We need not have worried,it was our lucky day, for with the skills and knowledge of the Game Wardens and Spotters we saw all of the big five plus giraffe,hippo,zebra,wildebeest and more!! We know we were very lucky to see so many animals on one drive,but on each of the following three drives we saw an excellent selection of game.

There are 6 luxury suites, 5 'Rondavels' and a very spacious honeymoon suite, accommodating a maximum of 24 guests. All suites are en suite with a shower, bath, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, fans and air-conditioning.
The luxury suites each have an open plan lounge area/bedroom area and a private deck with views of the riverbed. They are glass fronted and decorated in earthy tones. All suites have over-head fans, fire place, showers (inside & outside), bath and mosquito nets. One chalet is suitable for disabled guests.
The Rondavels are located in a landscaped garden and each have a private sundeck. They are spacious and decorated in an African theme with air-conditioning, mini bars, tea/coffee making facilities, en suite bathrooms with shower and bath, overhead fans and mosquito nets.
The main lodge area offers guests a lounge, dining room, bar, library and wine cellar. There is also a curio shop where you can purchase some local curios and memorabilia.
The pool deck overlooks the water hole opposite the camp where you can enjoy watching animals quenching their thirst.
Breakfast and lunch is enjoyed in the dining area or by the swimming pool outside, whilst dinners are a traditional fare in the outside boma around the fire. Selected wines from the chef's cellar compliment meal times.
Personal service and friendly staff create a friendly atmosphere during your safari experience.
Those looking for indulgences can enjoy spa treatments in the African Heath Spa or keep fit in the gym.
During a typical stay you will enjoy all your meals, morning and afternoon game drives in the Sabi Sand Reserve, game walks with experienced ranger and tracker, plus time to relax by the swimming pool or exchange stories by the bar.
Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is a big five (lion, rhino, elephant, leopard, buffalo) private game reserve adjacent to Kruger National Park. There are no fence lines between the two parks so animals traverse freely. In addition to the big five, you can expect to see giraffe, hippo, kudu, zebra, wildebeest and a large variety of antelope.
Elephant Plains Game Lodge welcomes couples and families with children and offers an affordable yet luxury safari experience.
Accessibility to the lodge is possible by self-drive, direct flights from Cape Town or Johannesburg as well as transfers from Kruger/Mpumalanga International Airport or Hoedspruit. Please enquire about more information regarding the flights when booking.
The Kruger National Park is a malari area, so we do advise you to seek advice regarding the recommended prophylactics.
