Perfect for those who want to get away from it all, Princess D'An Nam is perched alongside a desolate stretch of coast about 40km from the village of Mui Ne.

Arguably one of the most luxurious stays in Vietnam, Princess D'An Nam promises to be an unforgettable stay. The resort is incredibly spacious - with less than 50 villas spread over plenty of land, many of which have private pools, it is easy to spend much of the day surrounded by only a handful of people.

From its perfectly manicured gardens to the huge, beautiful infinity pool that reflects the sunset in the evening and looks out onto the sea, Princess D'An Nam is a once in a lifetime experience. The restaurant, which cooks up a selection of delicious asian fusion delights, is in a wonderful position looking out onto the infinity pool and ocean beyond.

A walk up and down the beach will reward you with visions of locals fishing - there are no other tourists in this area.

The resort has four fabulous swimming pools including a free form pool with jacuzzis (which is ideal for families), a gorgeous infinity pool that looks out to the ocean and two smaller pools by some of the villas. All pools are surrounded by sun loungers offering ample opportunities to soak up the rays and relax in privacy. It also has a wonderful 1,800 square-metre spa complex.

Designed by award-winning architect Tan Hock Beng, the resort style mixes modernist sensibility and post colonial ambience. It has 48 exclusive villas; the Mandarin, the Princess and the Empress. All villas come with high-speed internet access and flat-screen TVs.

The Mandarin Villas are semi-detached and built around two swimming pools. They have their own private corridors, a luxurious dressing room and separate bathtubs. Guests have the choice of either double or queen-sized beds. Meanwhile the Princess Villas are even larger and have their own private plunge pool as well as a private courtyard, outdoor bath tub, and a four-poster king size bed.

There are just three Empress Villas, which are two-storey, and almost double the size of the Princess Villas. They have either two or three bedrooms and boast panoramic views of the ocean from their balconies and have private infinity pools.

Guests can travel to Ocean Dunes Golf Club in nearby Phan Thiet, which is one of the best clubs in Vietnam. Designed by Nick Faldo, the par-72, 18 hole course has both spectacular views and challenging holes.

Other activities nearby include visiting the spectacular sand dunes, north of Mui Ne, or indulging in one of the many water sports on offer by the resort.

A 150-km drive from Ho Chi Minh City, the resort is set on the secluded and pristine Ke Ga Bay, facing a century-old French light house. Please note that Princess D?An Nam is in a wonderful isolated spot on the coast but may not be ideal for those looking for a nightlife or a hotel nearby restaurants.
