"Lovely hotel, very good food!" - Judith S, Dec 2019

"We loved Mai Chau Eco Lodge. The rooms and the view were beautiful. We were impressed by the ethos of the place and the employment of local staff." - Juliet & Mike R, April 2018

"The rooms are blessed with marvellous views over the paddy fields and the private plunge pool was a real boon. Very clean and luxurious feeling. The staff was friendly and helpful and dinner, both the European and Vietnamese options, was great!" - Debbie MW, April 2017

"This was a gorgeous spot. Great rooms, gorgeous pool, great views and good food. The folk music and dancing were fun. Staff was courteous and eager to please. This hotel is a real keeper and an excellent choice. " - Max V, Feb 2016. "Stunning. One of the highlights. WE had problems with water in our room but used the second room for showers. We were very relaxed and did not need it fixed, which I am sure would have happened. Lovely staff, stimulating tours." Richard S, April 2016.

This newly opened resort offers a wonderful "get back to nature" experience - the traditional thatched cottages with bamboo interiors, natural woods and outdoor jungle showers, complement the rural setting perfectly. Every bungalow was meticulously designed to embody the local stilt house style and traditional Thai ethnic culture - and the absence of televisions in the bungalows seems fitting.

The resort has a great 30-metre swimming pool with a restaurant and poolside bar as well as chalets devoted to spa and massage services.

There are five categories. The Superior Rooms offer smart, spacious rooms with tiled floors and bamboo furniture and the Junior Deluxe are even larger. However, we love the more rustic decor in the Deluxe Rooms which includes a stone walled interior and antique-style patterned floor tiles. Meanwhile the Suite rooms boast beautiful big wooden bath tubs and the President Rooms offer unrivalled luxury with private plunge pools.

The resort is designed to reflect the life of the White Thai ethnic people, who are a significant part of the population in this area. The food us no exception and delivers a quintessential fusion of Vietnamese traditional food and Thai tribal food. Most is served with fresh vegetables and herbs grown in their own garden. The two-storey Mai Chau Restaurant is perched on the highest point of the resort, offering panoramic view from every angle.

Only three hours by car from Hanoi, Mai Chau is a completely different world of pure air, untouched nature and fascinating tribal culture. Mai Chau Ecolodge is located right at the heart of Mai Chau valley, within walking distance to Lac and Pom Coong villages.
