Amulet Hotel has the most incredible location in old Bukhara, 350 metres from the ancient Lyabi-Khauz – the heart of the old city, featuring a pond surrounded by beautiful buildings, statues and cafes. This traditional hotel was built as a madrasah (school) in 1861 by a famous merchant and has been reconstructed to create a small hotel with original antiques and local artefacts for an authentic stay in the city.

The hotel has eight small guest rooms with satellite TV, air conditioning, fridge, private bathroom and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are decorated with woven carpets and wooden beams on the ceilings; and halls feature old cart wheels and beautiful carved wooden doors.

One of the most interesting and beautiful spaces within the hotel is the ‘sandali’, the area in the centre where the whole family used to gather in the room on cold nights. You can still see the original oven here and seating areas with bright cushions, where your hosts will make you feel welcome. Each morning, you can enjoy breakfast in the home-style café and later relax on the shaded terrace enjoying free tea and sweets. If you need anything during your stay, simply head to the 24 hour reception desk and ask.
