There are only 12 safari styled tents with thatch roofs and elegant Victorian-styled bathrooms with private viewing decks. Each tent features a mix of canvas walls with crystal chandeliers and opulent rugs with rosewood furniture. The tents all have a fully stocked mini bar as well as an electronic safe plus tea and coffee making facilities. For those also needing to stay in touch there is international cellular signal as well.

The main lodge area offers a central dining room with a lounge, library and bar. These areas are all interconnected by broad wooden walkways boosting super views over the Selous Game Reserve. Just above the main lodge area is a generous infinity pool and sundeck – the ideal place to relax before your afternoon safari begins. There is always the temptation of a massage for those who are wanting a little extra indulgence.

Your stay at Selous Serena Game Lodge is inclusive of all meals as well as selected local drinks and all game activities. There is a wide variety of things to do during your stay besides the traditional game drives with a ranger you can enjoyed guided nature walks as well as game viewing boat cruises – both these are a wonderful way to experience the wildlife. Enjoy a sundowner cruise or indulge in a bush and sandbank picnic! For the bird enthusiasts you can join one of the guides on an excursion learning about the many different species of resident and migratory (seasonal) birds.

The Selous Game Reserve is a World Heritage Site and one of the largest expanses of game reserve in Africa, covering 55 000 square km of rolling savannah, lakes, rivers and deltas. The reserve is four times the size of the Serengeti and larger than Switzerland! Selous Game Reserve is home to the largest concentration of elephants in the world and boasts some of the most exclusive and pioneering boating safaris that Africa has to offer!
