Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is divided into three camps, two of which have 12 suites and one with 6 suites. In total there are 30 stilted suites with banana leaf ceilings and grass roofs inspired by the traditional Maasai mud and stick manyatta which is a theme throughout the lodge.

Each suite is decorated with graceful antique's, grand chandeliers and a touch of African finishes. The bedroom, sitting room and en suite bathroom boast floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the Crater below. Beaded chandeliers hang above large gilt mirrors, while antiques, billowing raw silk curtains and leather-backed chairs blend harmoniously with African art elements. En suite bathrooms with a dramatic centrepiece of red roses feature spacious showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. A personal butler will discretely cater for each guest's every need, bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces and drawing luxurious bubble baths.

Each camp has its own guest sitting and dining areas as well as viewing decks into the Crater offering some excellent game viewing from the lodge. The domed dining room with its fireplace, crystal, silver and massive wooden platters turns every meal into a special occasion.

The game activities centre around the Crater and drives in the Ngorongoro Crater are longer than usual, partly due to the long drive into the Crater floor which boasts an abundance of game and it is very possible to see the big five in one drive.

The spectacular landscape of the world renowned Ngorongoro Crater has to be seen to be believed. It forms part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) within the Serengeti ecosystem and the Crater itself is home to more than 25 000 large mammals. Once a large volcano that later collapsed, it is now the largest intact caldera in the world.

This is an area of spectacular beauty and superb game viewing, a truly unique safari destination. Highlights include seeing Maasai herdsmen graze their cattle side by side with predators and prey. Enjoy easy sightings of the big five, the Lerai Forest is one of the best places in Africa for leopard sightings and the views from the Crater rim are spectacular!

The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, lies immediately adjacent to the Serengeti National Park and 180 kilometres from Arusha. A road transfer from Arusha will take approximately 4 hours, or alternatively you can take an internal charter flight to the adjacent airstrip - a little more expensive but certainly much quicker!

Your stay is fully inclusive and is easily complimented with a few nights in the Serengeti and/or a couple of days in Zanzibar to really enjoy a true bush & beach holiday - African style!
