Ferry service: A complimentary 24 hour ferry service ‘on demand’ operates to the mainland. A daily ferry service is also available to and from Bequia – journey time approx. 1 hour and payable locally – EC$20 per person one way (approx US$8.00).

At the heart of it all is the Young Island Hotel, overlooking a beautiful stretch of golden sand. Here, hammocks hang under thatched roofs and the cooling trade winds are ever constant. As is only right when residing on a Caribbean island, non-motorised water sports are offered in abundance, including kayaking, pedaloes and dinghy sailing. Just offshore is the Coconut Bar where drinks are served in fresh coconuts – you can swim there and back. The location of the resort, on its own private island has to be one of its best assets. A ‘Robinson Crusoe’ setting, but one that is not too remote and has easy access to the outside world.

With other Grenadine islands within easy reach of the resort, there are lots of choices for ‘perfect-partners’ island-hopping holidays.

Dining at Young Island is a truly romantic experience with meals taken under thatched kiosks near the beach. A sumptuous 4-course meal is prepared 5 nights a week by award-winning chefs with fresh seafood always on the menu. On Wednesdays, it's a local buffet meal and on Saturday you'll enjoy a barbeque and buffet. Each meal offers six loaves of freshly baked bread – white, coconut, banana, raisin, cinnamon and wheat – it’s a real treat and one they are justly famous for. A fabulous freshwater swimming pool is perfect for cooling dips and there’s tennis day and night on a floodlit court. Spacious, cottage style accommodation is either close to the beach or on a hillside with breathtaking panoramic views.

Vincentian Chef Christopher John, along with his team, creates fabulous mouth-watering dishes incorporating lots of local ingredients. The resort has recently won regional culinary awards alongside other top Grenadine resorts.

The resort is also famous for serving 6 delicious homemade breads at every meal including banana, cinnamon and raisin.

Fresh island produce, grown in the natural volcanic soils of St Vincent, is delivered daily to the hotel. Natural yogurt, locally produced, is available at breakfast with unusual flavours such as fresh root ginger.
