Owned and run by a Sri Lankan brother and sister, Jan and Sharon Tissera’s friendly team of staff will make you feel right at home.

Hideaway has a total of 14 rooms and offers a range of different accommodation options. There are four double rooms and one triple room within the main villa, three air-conditioned family bungalows that can comfortably fit a family of four, four air-conditioned double bungalows and two air-conditioned double rooms. All the bungalows have outdoor areas with lounge chairs and hammocks.

Hideaway’s restaurant is renowned for its wonderful food and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh fish and seafood are delivered daily and Sharon and her staff strive to use organic and local produce wherever possible. The restaurant serves a variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes. The resort also has a casual roadside juice café ‘Hideaway Blue’ and an evening cocktail bar ‘The Hide & Chill’, serving beer, wine and cocktails in atmospheric garden surroundings.

Arugam Bay is known worldwide for its surf breaks and there are waves here that will please everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Surf lessons and boards can be easily arranged upon request.
