There are 4 twin bedded (2 single beds) en suite thatched chalets, each with a private verandah. The 5th thatched chalet has a double bed, private verandah as well as a timber deck.

Tangala is one of the few "electricity free" camps and been in the Potgieter family for 3 generations, they successfully strive to offer visitors an authentic safari experience.

All lighting is by parafin lamps, and hot water is offered at all times by means of a traditional, old fashioned 'donkey-boiler'/gyser. The soft lighting and extra bush touches allows visitors to feel close to the bush, yet still enjoy our 'creature comforts'.

The lapa area offers a bar to enjoy sundowners, the dining area where mealtimes are shared, as well as a lounge area to relax after a day of game viewing. The deck overlooks the swimming pool (towels provided), and further into the bush where you can be spoilt with potential sightings of buffalo, antelope or even a lion. During warm nights, dinners are enjoyed in the outside boma area around a camp fire.

During your stay at Tangala Safari Camp, you will enjoy early morning game drives, followed by a well deserved breakfast. The afternoons are to relax, soak up the sun and enjoy the African bush sounds. In the late afternoons you will join the ranger on a game drive before returning for a traditional boma dinner.

Rates include breakfast, light lunch, 3 course dinner and 2 game drives (morning/afternoon). We do recommend a minimum of two night stay, and guests staying for 2 nights or more will be able to enjoy a bush walk with an experienced ranger.

Located in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Tangala Safari Camp offers visitors a big five game experience. Thornybush is home to lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and a large variety of antelope.

Visitors will enjoy personal service, professional guides and traditionally South African cuisine during their stay.

Tangala Safari Camp is ideal for couples, and families with children over the age of 7 years.
