The honeymoon suite is more private and offers a wonderful view over the ocean and dune forest.
The central dining and lounge area has a large wrap-around veranda and a raised deck with wide views across to the ocean. There is also a large pool if you have had enough of the warn Indian Ocean and also a curio shop and childrens playroom that complete the main lodge area.
Rocktail offers some of the best diving in South Africa where you can dive or snorkel the coral reefs. The beaches are completely remote and on a 'crowded' day you might see a few local fisherman, otherwise you have kilometres of beach area to stroll and swim in. Other attractions to Rocktail include excellent birding and nearby you can take a trip to Lake Sibaya (extra charge) which is a spectacular inland lake. There is also a community project that you can visit and even consult with a Sangoma. Quad biking is also on offer and during the summer months you can join the guides to monitor the turtle nesting - the sight of a 750kg leatherback turtle heaving herself up the beach to lay eggs is a once in a life time experience to witness!
Rocktail Beach Camp is ideal for couples and families - access is possible with flights into Richards Bay or Durban and you can take a road transfer to the lodge or self-drive to the 2x4 parking pick up as you will then take a 4x4 transfer to the lodge! It is possible to combine a stay here with a few nights either on safari or visiting the interesting Battlefields of Natal. There are also charter flights to the lodge.
