The lodge houses 25 thatched bungalows with light and modern décor - 8 of which are suitable for families with children. All the bungalows are en-suite and have a private terrace with views over the landscape, making this a perfect place to enjoy a breakfast or sundowners. The lodge also offers a luxury bungalow, fondly referred to as “Heaven’s Gate” which is set on a higher level, offering even more stunning views of the landscape. Heaven’s Gate is only accessible via a short mountain walkway and 25m metal staircase.

The main lodge area consists of a restaurant as well as a lounge and bar area. The restaurant is made of stone and thatch and decorated in burnt oranges, adding to the desert feel. The bar and lounge area boast a thatch roof with open sides, making this a wonderful airy place to enjoy during the warmer afternoons. Guests are also invited to take a dip in the lodges 2 swimming pools, or enjoy a relaxing soak in the jacuzi.

Activities around the lodge are centred around exploring the lodge on foot. There are a number of hikes of various distances on offer, as well as many self-guided walking trails. All the hikes offer interesting scenery and are bound to expand your education on the area. You might also spot some of the animals, such as giraffe, eland, zebra, kudu, oryx, springbok, impala, warthog, baboon and steenbok, which frequent the trails. In addition the lodge also offers beautiful scenic sundowner drives. In addition to the restaurant at the lodge, Eagle’s Nest restaurant is a 10 minute walk away and offers traditional African Cuisine with absolutely breath-taking views. Guests are welcome to swop out a dinner at the lodge for one at Eagle’s Nest at no extra charge (booking essential).
