20 degres Sud offers an intimate, laid-back atmosphere in a quaint, luxurious setting atop a sheltered cove along the translucent turquoise lagoon of Grand Baie. The 34 rooms are elegant and quaint, decorated in white, creamy colors with antiques as well as furniture and furnishings from the Belgian interior decorator Flamant Home interiors®. You’ll feel right at home while enjoying high touch luxury and the finest cuisine.

The resort feels open, airy and tranquil and welcomes adults and children over 12 years. This romantic oasis is the ideal spot for honeymooners, couples, and friends. The resort receives a calm off shore breeze leaving you feel relaxed and refreshed even on the warmer days.

The concept is to provide an elegant atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in the comforts of home. The center area of the hotel offers various indoor-outdoor lounge areas where you can relax, sink into massive leather couches with a cocktail and enjoy a game of chess, scrabble, billiards, whilst live music plays each evening. Or simply curl up with a good book from the library.

The Rooms
There are unique 34 rooms and suites are situated in a coconut grove on the open sea. The majority of rooms are set around the main pool overlooking the turquoise lagoon (one of our favorites beach areas with the calm, protected lagoons- we couldn’t get enough of the sparkling turquoise sea view!

The base categories are the Cosy Rooms followed by the Charm Rooms. Both are approximately 25sqm and overlook the pool, coconut grove and gardens that open onto the sea. The main difference is that the Charm Rooms have a bath tub. No one room is alike and sizes vary from 20-30sqm. Rooms are on the smaller side yet oh so elegant and charming. Four Charm Rooms are connected, offering an ideal option for families and groups of friends.

The next level up is the Beachfront Suite (30-50sqm) situated close to the waterfront and provide stunning views that vary between 30-50sqm (tip- request one with an outdoor shower!) There are 4 spacious Austral Suites (80sqm) available with a private terrace-ground level suites have private plunge pool while upper floor suites have Jacuzzi.

The Facilities
20 Degrees has a private beach and two pools all in close proximity. The sea is protected, calm and turquoise; ideal for swimming and a variety of watersports including glass bottom boat tours and windsurfing. If you’re seeking colorful nightlife and local cafes, the bustling town of Grand Baie is a mere 3km and you can be whisked across the bay via complimentary boat service offered four times a day.

The main restaurant is called the The Hotel offering a la carte dining in a lovely setting just off the main pool area and overlooking the sea. For a surcharge, you can also opt to dine on the newly renovated M/S Lady Lisbeth (1920s vintage motorboat) boat with just 8 passengers, ideal for a romantic dinner cruise or lunch out on the lagoon. The restaurant transforms into an elegant, romantic evening atmosphere with stunning views of the lights of Grand Baie across the lagoon. The menu is created by a young, talented Mauritian Chef offering a variety of creative and fresh dishes always including the local catch of the day.
