You’ll find this traditional nomadic yurt camp in an idyllic spot on the southern shores of Song Kul Lake – an undiscovered gem in Kyrgyzstan. Its remote location means you’re more likely to be joined by flocks of sheep and goats than crowds of tourists. And the views of the topaz lake, mountains and wildflowers are strikingly beautiful.

The 30 authentic yurts are simply decorated in typical Kyrgyz style, with intricate fabrics and felt rugs, known locally as ‘shyrdaks’. Inside each yurt there are beds with soft blankets, cushions and sleeping bags, plus added luxuries such as slippers. You’ll also have a stove which will be lit twice a day to keep the yurt toasty and warm. There are toilet facilities and shower cabins with hot water in the shared area of the camp.

Kyrgyz and European cuisine is served in the communal dining yurt, where you’ll have the chance to chat to other guests. This is a sociable space where you can join other guests on the wooden benches and share stories of the day’s hikes and horse treks as you dig into a delicious homemade meal.
