From the moment you step in, you can feel the charming classic European-like atmosphere and cosy “homely” ambiance reflected in every detail from the library to the inviting lobby where you can have a relaxed drink by the fireplace.

There are different room options split into two categories: Western rooms and Japanese rooms. The western rooms have twin beds and are very spacious by Japanese standards. They are comfortable spaces with a cosy and warm atmosphere that invites you to fully relax.

Some of the Japanese rooms have western beds and some have shared bathrooms as well. These rooms are comfortable and charming, furnished in traditional Japanese ryokan style but with a modern and fresh new look.

The hotel has a semi-outdoor bath with floor-to-ceiling windows that let you enjoy the views of nature while soaking in healing alkaline waters.

As in every ryokan, dinner and breakfast are included in the room price. Unique to this ryokan is the cuisine, dinner is a French-Japanese fusion and a continental buffet is offered for breakfast instead a purely traditional Japanese style meal set up.

At Shinshu Dining, the hotel’s restaurant, you will find creative French cuisine that uses local and fresh ingredients. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
