The number one attraction at this resort is its fabulous beach - and if you are looking to spend some time relaxing on the coast in Cambodia this is the place to do it. Away from the hassle and hawkers that plague Sihanoukville's main beaches, this is an oasis of calm.
Guests are sure to enjoy the huge swimming pool and beautiful private beach at Sokha Resort. The rooms and public areas of the resort may lack a little imagination and feel a tad dated but beach-lovers will be prepared to overlook that.
The large resort has 391 spacious, air-conditioned rooms that are decorated with Khmer touches and wooden furniture. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, television, radio, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, bath and separate shower.
The newest rooms, which opened in 2013, are the water chalets (pictured in the first three images here). These chalets offer a completely different experience to the rest of the hotel - elegantly decorated with lagoon views, timber floors and high ceilings, they are the most luxurious option.
In the main hotel the cheapest rooms are the Lakeside Deluxe, which are spacious and comfortable but located further back away from the resort. Next up are the Ocean Wing Superior Rooms, which are spacious and well located, while the Ocean Wing Deluxe Rooms have a sea view. Club Suites are slightly larger with a separate living area and the Junior Suites are bigger yet also have a separate living area. There are also villas closer to the beach, which are a little more dated in terms of decor and style. Water chalets are currently being built at the resort, which promise to be a more stylish and luxurious option.
The resort has an impressive 4 restaurants and 6 bars on site that serve everything from tapas snacks to local Khmer influenced dishes and international cuisine.
The resort is about 10 minutes from the centre of Sihanoukville, which is easily accessible by taxi. Guests can fill their days here by relaxing on the hotel's white sandy beach, or exploring the resort's tennis courts and a fitness centre. Water sports can be easily arranged and the hotel's Jasmine Spa is a delight.
