Lazy Beach is one of our favourite options for the beautiful island of Koh Rong Samloem because it is tucked away on a private cove all on its own - and it has a smashing ambience, full of friendly charm with an easy-going vibe.

As per all the accommodation options of the tropical island of Koh Rong Samloem, Lazy Beach is not a luxurious accommodation choice. It consists of a selection of beachside wooden huts that are in keeping with the nature around them.

The bungalows have large double beds, en-suite bathrooms and a spacious balcony offering waters edge views of the warm tropical ocean. The Octagon Bar and restaurant area is cozy with hammocks set into the wooden frame and sofas scattered around. In keeping with the name of the place, it is the perfect venue to laze around, enjoying lovely sunset views - the perfect way to unwind after a hard day on the beach.

The Lazy Beach bar is designed for your comfort, whether it’s lying in our Octagon Bar on the cushions or hammocks reading a book, sitting at the tables playing cards, relaxing on the fantastic sun deck or simply lazing back on one our many sofas. Lazing at our bar you can enjoy awesome sunset views the perfect way to unwind after a hard day on the beach.

Lazy beach is one of the only private beaches on the island - it is a long stretch of squeaky clean sand set in a beautiful bay surrounded by tropical jungle. The calm sea offers safe swimming and fantastic snorkeling straight off the beach in two of Cambodia’s great dive sites either end of the bay. It is about a 20 minute walk through the jungle to get to the island’s main beach, which has a few low key restaurants and bars on it.

The resort, which is western-run, was the first to open on the island but remains one of our top choices because of its atmosphere and privacy, despite fairly basic accommodation.

It takes about two hours by boat to get to Lazy Beach from Sihanoukville.
