The 9-day Masai Mara & Zanzibar beach itinerary is a holiday of contrast – from the hot and dry regions of the Mara desert, to the tranquil sandy beaches in Zanzibar. This itinerary is an ideal trip for those looking for a relaxed beach holiday interspersed with a bit of wild Africa.
Your Masai Mara & Zanzibar holiday starts off with 3 nights in the Mara region, where you will be staying at a traditional yet luxurious safari camp. The Masai Mara, rooted in ancestral history, is known for its dense predator population and is also one of the regions through which the Great Migration passes from late July – early August until the end of October – November every year – making this a very exciting time to visit this area! In addition to the brilliant wildlife, the region is also home to a large variety of birdlife, and offers beautiful plains landscapes all year round. Your stay at this family-run camp will be loaded with thrilling game activities – from day and night game drives to guided bush walks, and true Kenyan hospitality including meals and sundowners in the bush at the end of an exciting day of game viewing.
The second part of your Masai Mara & Zanzibar holiday takes you to Bwejuu beach, one of the most popular island beaches in the world. You will be staying in a 4-star beachfront restaurant, where you can do as little or as much as you want during your stay. Your time can be spent lazing on the beach soaking up the sun whilst looking over the crystal-clear water of the Indian Ocean, or enjoying some water activities such as snorkelling, scuba-diving, windsurfing or kitesurfing. You can also go on a number of historical and cultural tours in the area*.
*Some of these activities are charged extra.
