The Lodge is located at the very northern end of Kiwengwa beach well away from other resorts. Its isolated spot makes it a perfect destination for guests looking for peace, tranquillity and relaxation. The beach is truly stunning.
There is a good choice of accommodation including luxury suites with private pools, cottages with verandas overlooking the ocean or comfortable lodge rooms with terraces opening onto the garden.
The two suites, Kusi and Kaskazi are set on the crest of the hill apart from the main Lodge guest rooms. Each suite is laid out on 3 floors with 2 bedrooms and a private swimming pool, set amidst a tropical garden. They are furnished with stunning traditional Zanzibar furniture and batik linen. You cna enjoy fantastic panoramic 360 degree views from the roof of the villa, sweeping across the coral reef and the island interior. There is also an inbuilt bath tub to and a fully netted bed so that you can relax and enjoy the fabulous star-filled night. Both suites have ceiling fans as well as being fully air conditioned.
The 11 Sea View Cottages are spacious en-suite rooms, built in keeping with traditional Zanzibari styles of architecture with airy, high-beamed ceilings, large shuttered windows and air conditioning. All have traditionally carved wooden Zanzibari beds, with beautifully dyed mosquito net canopies and matching Tanzanian 'vintage' bed covers, along with coconut wood wall mirrors and other hand-made teak wood furniture.
Four of the Sea View Cottages are set out on two levels and are ideal for families. The ground floor has a large, air-conditioned double bedroom, shower room and a small staircase leads up to a twin children's room in the roof space, whilst there is a wash basin area the shower room and toilet shared with the ground floor.
The 3 Garden Lodge Rooms are smaller and more simply furnished, some with Zanzibari beds. They have Air conditioning and ceiling fans and are also en-suite.
All rooms have wall lights, bedside lamps and electric ceiling fans. The bathrooms are equipped with overhead showers with hot and cold running water. The pathways between cottages and down the steps to the beach are all sand (no shoes required!) and also illuminated at night for safety and comfort.
The restaurant has a long-standing reputation for fine food, a cosy, intimate atmosphere and warm friendly service. The Tanzanian chef specializes in seafood, grills and traditional Zanzibari cuisine, as well as a fine selection of vegetarian dishes.
The swimming pool is a salt water infinity pool. Located on the cliff some 10 meters above the beach, it pool has spectacular views over the beach and towards the coral reef and onto the Indian Ocean beyond.
