There are 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor as well as a lovely mezzanine bedroom upstairs (ideal for kids).

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with a framed mosquito net plus en suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has twin beds with an adjoining bathroom, offering both bath and shower. The mezzanine bedroom has 2 single beds.

The house has a walled garden and looks out over the plunge pool towards the beach and endless Indian Ocean. There is a full butler service allowing for maximum privacy or you can take a stroll to the nearby lodge for meals and drinks or activities such as diving and snorkelling. Your chef/butler will discuss meal plans with you on a daily basis allowing you the opportunity to input into meal preferences. All meals are included in your stay.

The wooden deck has a hammock plus large couch with scatter cushions creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy meals or relax in the shade with a book. There is also a private bar stocked with a selection of drinks and can be stocked to your exact refreshment needs.

There is a pool offering complete privacy for sunbathing and it also has a safety net if need be. There is also a laundry service available. Any massage treatments can be enjoyed at the nearby lodge.

Matemwe Beach House is not suitable for disabled visitors due to its layout.

The north-eastern Zanzibar is famous for its fine sady beaches, contrasting ocean colours and the beauty of the coral reef around Mnemba Island and is a tidal beach. Activities range from a reef walk, snorkelling, visit a nearby village or just laze on the beach. Day trips out to Stone Town and the Spice Tour can be arranged as well as diving or a Dhow trip.

Matemwe Beach House offers the perfect base for a family or friends to explore the treasures of Zanzibar island and ideally can be included with a few days on the mainland Tanzania enjoying the fantastic game viewing in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
