Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Kenya

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International where a local representative will meet you and assist with your road transfer to Wilson Airport. Here you will catch a light aircraft flight to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The next 3 nights will be spent at Lewa House on a full board and game package basis. Lewa House is family-owned giving it a feeling of intimacy, yet it retains a feeling of luxury and opulence. Arrive in time for a light lunch before heading off on your first afternoon game drive and arrive back in time for sundowners, before being treated to a delicious dinner.

Days 2&3 - Lewa Conservancy

Your stay at Lewa House includes day and night time game drives where you will see a variety of animals including the “Big 5”! Go on a morning nature walk or horse ride through the conservancy, giving you a chance to see the wildlife up close and personal. Enjoy al-fresco style breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the bush and take a visit to the Lewa Conservancy head-quarters to learn about the inspirational conservation work being done in the area.

Days 4-6 - Masai Mara

Today you will be transferred back to the Lewa airstrip, where you will catch a light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. Spend the next 3 nights at Rekero Camp on a full-board and game package basis. Rekero camp will give you an authentic safari experience as you hear the hippos playing in the river below the main communal area, and watch the animals crossing the Talek River just 50m from the camp lawn. Enjoy game drives, bush picnics, cultural visits and even a balloon safari in the Serengeti (at an extra cost).

Days 7-10 - Zanzibar

Catch a light aircraft flight back to Wilson Airport where you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International and catch a flight to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar! A local representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the decadent Baraza Resort & Spa. You will spend 4 nights here in an ocean front villa. Take a traditional cooking class, learn to weave palm leaves. For the more adventurous learn to scuba dive and explore the natural coral reefs. Other activities include jet skis, kayaking, kite surfing, para sailing and water skiing. The greater Zanzibar region also has a variety of other activities on offer – including swimming with dolphins.

Day 11 - Return to Zanzibar Airport

Today is the final day of your holiday. Check out at 10:00 am after a leisurely breakfast overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Spend the rest of the day exploring the sandy beaches, go scuba diving or take a refreshing dip in the warm waters. After a leisurely morning you will be collected from Baraza and transferred back to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport where will catch your international flight back home.

This Wilderness, migrations & beach itinerary offers you a luxurious and decadent holiday exploring the wild areas of Kenya before setting off for a relaxing or very exciting (your choice!) 4 days on the beaches of Zanzibar. Your holiday starts off in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The Lewa Conservancy is 250km2 and covers diverse landscapes including the Ngare Ndare Forest, making it a wonderful place for viewing a diverse range of game, including the “Big 5”! Soak up the luxury whilst being treated to true Kenyan hospitality in the family-owned lodge we have picked out for you, but don’t forget to make the most of your surroundings and enjoy all the game activities on offer as well! From the Lewa conservancy you will head off to the sacred region of the Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara, deeply rooted in ancestral history, is known for its dense predator population and is also one of the regions through which the Great Migration passes from late July – early August until the end of October – November every year – making this a very exciting time to visit this area! The camp we have chosen for you offers views of the animals crossing the Talek River, just 50m away! In addition to the brilliant wildlife, the region is also home to a large variety of birdlife, and offers beautiful plains landscapes all year round. Here you will enjoy al-fresco style, yet luxurious dining in the bush, as well as game drives and a cultural tour if you so wish!

The last leg of your wilderness, migrations & beach holiday takes you to the beautiful shores of Zanzibar. You will stay at an exclusive resort hotel with in a one-bedroom suite facing the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Spend your days here doing as much or as little as you like. There are a wide variety of activities on offer at the resort, including traditional cooking classes, palm tree weaving and scuba diving lessons, amongst a variety of other exciting water activities! The greater Zanzibar region is also worth exploring – book a trip to swim with dolphins or enjoy an historical tour of Stone Town with its unusual architecture and interesting history.
