There is nowhere else quite like Tia Wellness in Vietnam (formerly known as Fusion Maia). For a start all your spa treatments are included in the room rate and you are guaranteed two every day - or as many as you want, subject to availability. But it is more than that. The resort has a wonderfully calming ambience - from the friendly staff that are dressed in smart-causal beige slacks and white t-shirts to the daily programme of yoga that takes place every day by the beach; your stresses and worries will soon evaporate here.

The resort has a stunning location on the quiet, white sandy beach of Da Nang - despite a growing number of resorts in the area the private beach feels surprisingly secluded. A large infinity swimming pool looks out onto the ocean with plenty of sun beds both around the pool and on the beach.

The pool bar cafe sells a variety of Asian fusion and western dishes and is open throughout the day. Meanwhile the main restaurant, which is stylishly decorated in a minimalist fashion with colourful lanterns hanging from the ceiling, offers a healthy, balanced cuisine with everything from raw foods to Vietnamese noodles.

Upon arrival at Tia Wellness you will be assigned a Fusionista who will be your guide to understanding the resort and how you can make the most out of it. He or she will deal with any special requests you may have or make suggestions for activities or healthy wellbeing during your stay. Every Fusionista is completely unique (one is particularly fabulous with children), so have a chat to us about this when you book and we can help pair you with the right person.

The villas here are stunning. Like the rest of the resort, the theme here is chic minimalist so if you are craving Vietnamese carved beds and Oriental decor this is not the place for you. The villas are unbelievable spacious with huge four-poster beds, an indoor living area and ginormous swanky bathrooms with sunken baths and rain showers.

Every villa has a private pool with sun loungers and a table and chairs. The one bedroom villas are called Pool Villas, the two bedroom villas are the Spa Villas (simply because they are closer to the spa) and the three bed villas, called Pool Beach Villas, are closest to the beach.

Guests are advised to book at least two spa treatments in advance for the following day from a menu that is in the villas. The resort also has an excellent fitness centre.

Located just half an hour from Da Nang Airport and the ancient town of Hoi An, Tia Wellness is ideally located. The resort runs shuttle buses throughout the day to Hoi An, home of traditional Chinese influenced architecture and the best clothes tailors of Vietnam.

Our thoughts: We love the atmosphere and attention to detail at Tia. The managers are hands on and will make you feel extremely welcome. In our opinion, the buffet breakfast is one of the best in the country - and if you miss the buffet you are allowed to have your own private breakfast at any time during the day - or even have it in Hoi An if you wish!
