"Good recommendation to get the plunge pool rooms. We also loved the cooking classes!" - Ru S, Feb 2019

"Mekong lodge was lovely - exceeded expectations. Great place to chill and they made a real effort to do veggie food for me. The trip to local market was really interesting and the pool was fab!" - Claire B, Aug 2018

The Mekong Lodge is one of the cutest resorts in the Mekong Delta - if you are after a sweet little bungalow on the riverbank, surrounded by luscious gardens and tropical foliage then look no further. The accommodation is not luxurious but it is clean and comfortable and almost has a ‘homestay’ feel about it. It is more off the beaten track than other resorts allowing you to observe local life, villages and vibrant river life without hundreds of other tourists around you.

The lodge features 30 private bungalows, nearly half of which have small private plunge pools, built to embody the local style of rural “garden cottage” surrounded by flowers and fruit trees. The bungalows are have pretty coconut leave thatched roofs, wooden furniture and bamboo interiors. The decor is simple and very Vietnamese in style and the bungalows also have sweet little outside bathrooms - many of which have traditional Mekong-style boats as bath tubs.

All rooms are equally charming with same design and settings, yet if you are a light sleeper, you should choose a garden view room as it is away from river life. One of the biggest misconceptions about the Mekong Delta is that it is a sleepy little river world - this could not be further from the truth. The river is the lifeline to business and industry in south Vietnam - expect loud motoring boats to be heard at all times - on the plus, it is fascinating to watch the business world go by from the comforts of a resort like this.

Most guests would stay here for one or two nights and have the opportunity to walk or cycle around local villages, visit fruit orchards, floating markets, see local industries at work including coconut candy factories and try your hand at cooking Vietnamese food. The price of the accommodation includes all the activities as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel recently added a fantastic outdoor swimming pool right in front of the river for amazing sunset relaxation.

The Lodge is only 120 km South-West from Ho Chi Minh, approximately 2.5 hours driving.
