Princess Junk is one of the best value for money private-charter options in Halong Bay. She may be small, with just one cabin on board, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in character and charm.

This traditional junk is available for anything from one to five nights on the Bay, unlike any standard junks which have a maximum stay of two nights. The advantage of taking a private-chartered cruise is that we can help you away from the crowds by either designing a unique itinerary or allowing extra days on the bay to get further away from the mainland, where fewer boats stray.

Indochina Junk have four Princess Junks available for private charter. All have one cabin, a dining table, a sun deck area with loungers and are fully staffed with a captain, supervisor, waiter, mechanic, chef and tour guide.

The cabin is decked out in rich woods with a large window for great views and traditional finishes, as well as an en-suite bathroom. It has individually controlled air-conditioning, a wardrobe, safe box and complimentary use of slippers and a hair dryer.

When it comes to dinner and lunch, the chef will cook us a delicious spread of seafood and Vietnamese specialities - but he can also cater to your own tastes and requirements. The dining table is alfresco-style and besides the sun deck area but it is covered. There is also a separate staff area for maximum privacy.

Princess Junk is not the ideal option for those seeking complete luxury - but it is a wonderful and affordable choice for those who want privacy while getting off the beaten track. It is particularly well suited to honeymoons or similarly romantic trips.
