Zargaron Boutique Hotel is a three-star hotel in the centre of Bukhara, close to the Kalyan minaret which has intricate and beautiful patterns ground into the brickwork. Head up to the terrace on the upper floor of the hotel and you’ll have a fantastic view over the minaret, which stretches 45 metres high. During the summer, the open-air bar on the roof of the hotel is the place to be for views over the domed roofs and a perfect setting for dinner overlooking the city.

The hotel is built in the style of a merchant’s home, with two courtyards, and the 18 simple yet spacious rooms each have a satellite TV, air-conditioning and a minibar. You can start the day with breakfast in the restaurant before heading out into the old city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most complete examples of a medieval city in central Asia.

The Trading Domes are only a one-minute walk from the hotel and a great chance to step inside and gaze up at the arched curves and wander along the different traders, trying your hand at haggling for jewellery, carvings and silks.
