The Ultimate Africa Adventure itinerary is designed to give you some of the best of Southern and East Africa, all in one exciting trip! This itinerary takes you through 5 African countries, spending a minimum of 3 nights in each!
Your adventure will start with a 4-night stay in Camps Bay, in the beautiful and much sought-after Cape Town City. Spend your time exploring the city centre – from restaurants, bars, coffee shops and bakeries to museums and art galleries! You will also have ample time to visit some of the iconic beaches, perhaps taking a trip to swim with the local penguins in Simon’s Town, and perhaps take a trip up Table Mountain! From Cape Town you will head off to South Africa’s next most popular destination, the Cape Winelands.
Spend 2 nights staying in a guesthouse in the historic Franschhoek village. You will be within walking distance of some of South Africa’s top restaurants, and we highly recommend taking the time to look around – or ask us – for something that excites your taste buds! We also recommend taking a day trip on the Franschhoek wine tram, as this is a unique and fun way to explore the surrounding winelands.
The next stop on your Ultimate Africa Adventure is the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The Delta is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa. During the dry winter months, the delta is at its fullest and attracts a large variety of wildlife. In fact, it is known to be one of the areas with the highest concentrations of wildlife during this time! The high concentration of permanent and seasonal wildlife around the Delta include elephant, buffalo, hippo, rhino and a wide variety of buck, as well as predators including lion, cheetah, leopard and the Nile crocodile and a large variety of birdlife. You will spend 3 nights here before catching a flight to Nairobi, Kenya!
After an overnight stay in a luxury hotel, you will head off on another light aircraft flight to the Laikipia region, where the next 3 nights of your Ultimate Africa Adventure will be enjoyed. Laikipia county is a cosmopolitan area of Kenya and a popular travel destination, however, it is definitely not without the natural wilderness that Kenya is known for. The region is a vast open plain, well known for its wildlife, including the rare Bongo and African Wild Dog, and ‘big 5’, amongst others – making it a great destination for game viewing. The lodge we have chosen for you offers excellent armchair game viewing and even gives you the opportunity to sleep under the Kenyan stars if you so wish!
From the Laikipia region you are going to head off to the ancient and spiritual Masai Mara. The Mara is known for its dense predator population and is also one of the regions through which the Great Migration passes from late July – early August until the end of October – November every year – making this a very exciting time to visit this area! In addition to the brilliant wildlife, the region is also home to a large variety of birdlife, and offers beautiful plains landscapes all year round. You will be staying at a traditional safari camp, giving you an authentic African safari experience.
The final leg of your Ultimate African Adventure holiday takes you back to the beaches. After 2 short flights, you will enjoy 5 nights in Zanzibar, staying at a quiet and luxurious beach lodge/hotel. Spend your time here doing as little or as much as you like. Simply relax on your private patio while soaking up the sun and sipping on a cocktail or explore the white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of the warm Indian Ocean.
Although we believe that this is already the Ultimate African Adventure, we can also add an adventure to the Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, if this is an area on your African bucket list!
