The five-star Archabil Hotel is one of the best hotels in Turkmenistan. It’s located in the capital’s business district, approximately six miles south of Ashgabat’s centre on the road to Archabil.

Built in 2004, the 16-storey hotel is an ode to white marble and a symbol of new business in Ashgabat. The lobby welcomes you with a huge chandelier, gold flourishes and a large portrait of the president. All 148 guest rooms have a TV, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, comfortable bed and lounge chairs.

Breakfast is included in your stay and served in the restaurant on the top floor, which has sweeping views across the capital. A second restaurant seats 100 guests and serves Turkmen barbecue cuisine; and you’ll find a welcoming bar in the lobby. Reception staff speak good English and can provide local recommendations. A laundry service is also available.

The hotel sits amid large grounds with fountains and lush greenery, creating a calming oasis within the big city. After exploring the area, you can unwind in the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool. There’s also a spa centre with a Hammam, sauna, steam bath and snow shower, as well as an extensive menu of massage and beauty treatments.
