Flights To Tobago

Tobago is a wonderfully unspoilt and under developed island and this means tourists but not many. As a result there are not lots and lots of flights. British Airways and Monarch fly to Tobago from the UK. Please see below for details.

Bacolet
The area of Bacolet is a quiet enclave located near to the bustling capital Scarborough. The Bacolet Beach club and the Half Moon Blue hotels are located here. Bacolet Beach is good for body surfing and you can get a simple lunch there from the Bluehaven Hotel Beach cafe. The locals play beach football on Sundays which is great fun to watch.
Speyside
Speyside is a quiet village right in the north of Tobago. This is where the best diving is in Tobago but there is also great snorkelling especially on Batteaux reef just off Blue Waters Inn Hotel. A 20 minute local boat ride away is the uninhabited 450 acre island of Little Tobago (also known as Bird of Paradise Island). Here there are opportunities to hike up to the top (200 feet) for stunning views and to watch the birdlife and especially the red-billed tropicbirds wheeling around the cliffs.
Englishman's Bay
Situated on the Caribbean side of Tobago, Englishman's Bay is a totally unspoilt idylic horsehoe shaped bay with tropical rainforest cascading down to the white sand. Green parrots are often to be seen in the trees and Pelicans wheeling and diving. There is one small tin shack on the beach and this houses Iulia's where you can get a cold soft drink and a simple local lunch cooked on a primus. There is also a small selection of things to buy from carvings to sarongs. It is a magical spot.
Mount Irvine
Mount Irvine is known for its beaches, the well established Mount Irvine golf course and the large luxurious villas with views of both. Located on the Caribbean side of the island the beaches here are calmer than those on the Atlantic side. There are two great beaches here. Mount Irvine beach and Mount Irvine Hotel beach. Both have facilities bar, simple food and loos but the Mount Irvine beach is larger and busier. There is great snorkeling off the beach and unusually there is a reef to one side which creates excellent waves for surfing or body boarding and there are locals here who will hire you a board. The Mount Irvine hotel beach has a security guard on duty during the day and you can hire sun loungers from the bar area.
