In the bewitching town of Xiahe lies the three-star Labrang Baoma Hotel Building 2. If you’re looking for an authentic stay, this Tibetan-owned hotel is it. You’ll be looked after by a team of friendly and attentive Tibetan staff and can taste your way around some delicious local dishes every morning for breakfast.

The location of the Labrang Baoma Hotel is excellent. A 10-minute stroll will take you to the majestic Labrang Monastery, where you can learn the fascinating history of Tibetan Buddhism and discover the daily life of monks. You’ll also be on the doorstep of some superb local restaurants and shops. There are 30 rooms at the hotel, each decorated in traditional Tibetan style with intricate tapestries and a colour palette of rich reds and golds.
